Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is healing work that is done while you are in a very relaxed state. Your brainwaves are slower and the door to your subconscious mind is open. The subconscious mind determines 80% of everything we think, believe, feel, do and say. In our “normal” awake state we do not have access to the subconscious.

So how does this work? Let’s say that an early life experience showed you that money was hard to obtain for good, honest, hardworking people. Only those who were dishonest or privileged by birth would have wealth. This early experience planted this belief in your subconscious. So here you are now, a hard-working adult who struggles constantly to make ends meet. If asked, you would say that money is a good thing, and the more the better. That is your conscious belief. But your subconscious still believes that good, hardworking people cannot be wealthy. This is one of an infinite number of examples of how experiences and beliefs in the subconscious can sabotage us when they conflict with what we want consciously.

In a hypnotherapy session, the subconscious is open and available. The source of the issue you are experiencing now can be found and its influence reduced or eliminated. New beliefs of your choosing can be accessed from the repressed wisdom of your subconscious so that you are free to move forward effectively toward your dreams and goals.

Perhaps the most common misconception about hypnotherapy is that you are asleep or not aware of the process. This is not true. Being in a hypnotic state is like watching a split-screen TV. You can watch two shows at the same time. In a hypnotic state, you are fully aware of, and participating in, the healing work in your subconscious. At the same time, you are conscious and aware of your surroundings, such as a dog barking outside. You will be communicating back and forth with us as the healing work is done.

Hypnotherapy is highly effective for a wide number of issues, among them:

Resolving the issue may occur in one session or it may necessitate more sessions, depending on the complexity of the situation. Sessions are typically 1 to 1½  hours.
